A free Linear alternative
zvena Projects is a fast, keyboard-first issue tracker that lives in the same workspace as your docs and designs — and costs nothing for the whole team.
What zvena Projects does
- Issues with IDs, team workflows, priorities, assignees, labels, estimates, due dates, sub-issues and relations (blocks, related, duplicate).
- List, board and calendar views with grouping, sorting and filters; saved views for yourself or the whole workspace.
- Projects with leads, milestones, dependencies and status updates, and a roadmap you can drag to reschedule.
- Cycles with a burn-up chart; unfinished issues move to the next cycle when one ends.
- Keyboard first: C for a new issue, a command palette, and shortcuts for every property. Most changes can be undone.
- An inbox for mentions, assignments, comments and status changes; full-text search across every issue.
- Jev, our assistant, suggests a new issue's priority, label, project and assignee and flags likely duplicates (how it handles your data).
- Issues sit next to Docs and Design: create a doc or a design from an issue, and link them both ways.

What's missing
zvena Projects is new, and we would rather tell you up front:
- No importers yet. Issues from Linear, Jira or Trello don't come over automatically.
- No integrations or webhooks with GitHub, GitLab or Slack.
- Notifications stay in zvena — no e-mail or push yet.
- Descriptions save last-writer-wins. Two people editing the same description at once don't merge character by character.
- Drag and drop needs a mouse or pen. On touch screens, change properties with the pickers instead.
Who it's for
- Small product teams that want issues, specs and mockups in one place without per-seat bills.
- Startups and nonprofits planning sprints and roadmaps on a zero budget.
- Freelancers and studios tracking client work next to the designs they deliver.
How to start
- Create your account. Sign in with Google, GitHub or an e-mail link.
- Open Projects. Your workspace gets a team with a few example issues; press C to add your own.
- Set up your workflow. Rename statuses, add labels, turn on cycles and create your first project in the team's settings.
- Invite your team. Share an invite link from the Team page and pick each person's role.
