A calm place to design and write, together
zvena is a free workspace for product teams, freelancers and students: a design tool and a docs tool that share one team, one set of roles and one account. No AI, no ads, no tracking.
Why we built it
Most teams pay for a design tool, a docs tool and a third app to glue them together, then pay again for every new seat. Each of those tools is now racing to add AI, often trained on the very work people put into it.
We wanted the opposite: one quiet workspace where a spec and its mockups live side by side, where inviting a teammate costs nothing, and where your work is never anyone's training data.
What we believe
Free for everyone
No trial, no per-seat pricing, no ads. Every account gets 2 GB of storage for docs, files and designs.
Your work stays yours
Download everything as a ZIP archive at any time, and delete your account from Settings whenever you like. You own what you create.
Private by default
No AI features, no training on your content, no third-party trackers or analytics. We only set the cookies the app needs to work.
Open foundations
Design is built on the open-source Penpot editor and Docs on BlockNote. Our changes to Penpot are published on the source code page.
No passwords
Sign in with Google, GitHub or a one-time link sent to your e-mail. There is no password for us to store or for anyone to steal.
What's inside
- Design — a vector editor for interfaces: boards, components and variants, shared libraries, design tokens, flex and grid auto layout, prototypes, inspect mode and real-time collaboration.
- Docs — pages and databases with table, board, list, gallery, calendar, timeline, chart and form views. Import from Notion, publish pages to the web.
- Teams — shared workspaces, invite links and four roles (owner, editor, commenter, viewer) that apply to Docs and Design alike.
- Designs inside docs — drop a live Design frame into any page. The preview updates when the design changes.
Where your data lives
zvena runs on servers in the European Union. Accounts, documents, designs and files are stored there and backed up in encrypted form. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
