Guide

Migrate from Notion

Pages, sub-pages, databases and images move over in a few minutes. Here is how to do it, and what to check once you're in.

1. Export from Notion

  1. Open the export. For the whole workspace: Settings → General → Export all workspace content. For one section: open the page, click ⋯ → Export.
  2. Choose the format. Pick Markdown & CSV, turn on Include subpages and Create folders for subpages. Keep files and images included.
  3. Download the archive. Notion saves a .zip file (for big workspaces it e-mails you a download link). Keep it zipped — zvena reads the archive as is.

2. Import into zvena

  1. Sign in. Use Google, GitHub or a one-time e-mail link, then open Docs.
  2. Pick a workspace. Your personal workspace, or a shared one if the pages belong to your team.
  3. Upload the ZIP. On the Docs home page click Import from Notion (or use Import in any page's ⋯ menu), choose Notion and select the archive.

No account yet? You can try the importer as a guest: imported pages stay in your browser until you sign in, then move into your personal workspace.

FAQ

Does the import change anything in Notion?

No. zvena only reads the archive you upload. Your Notion workspace stays exactly as it was.

Can I import an HTML export instead?

Yes. The importer also accepts HTML, Markdown, CSV and Evernote (.enex) files. Markdown & CSV keeps databases best, so we recommend it for Notion.

What happens if the import stops halfway?

Pages imported so far stay in place. Delete them or keep them, then import the remaining sections as separate archives.

Can I go back to Notion later?

Yes. Every page exports to Markdown, HTML, PDF or CSV, and Settings → Download all my data gives you everything in one ZIP. Notion imports Markdown and CSV.

How much does it cost?

Nothing. zvena is free with unlimited members and 2 GB of storage per account. Read more in the comparison with Notion.

Free for everyone. No credit card, no trial, no ads.
